Mohammad Shahril bin Zaini
Secretary
Mohammad Shahril bin Zaini is a registered and licensed counsellor, as well as an HRD Corp Accredited Trainer, with experience in mental health institutions, public health, and research. He was introduced to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in 2021 and found it deeply aligned with his approach, work, and personality. Since then, he has continued to learn, grow, and integrate ACT into his practice.
Currently, Shahril serves as a Team Leader at a non-governmental organization, where he leads and trains a team of peer facilitators supporting clients in managing substance use. He is also a qualitative researcher, pursuing an MPhil in Policy Studies, and has recently passed his viva voce.
Inspire. Empower. Encourage. Educate. These four words define his core values. Shahril believes in continuous growth and improvement — for both himself and others — through authentic, meaningful connections. In his ACT practice, he emphasizes helping clients clarify their values and walking alongside them on their journey toward living a values-driven life.
An advocate for mental health and a healthy lifestyle, Shahril has experienced his own transformation, going from morbidly obese to living a sustainable and healthy life. This personal experience fuels his commitment to inspire and support others in building their own values-driven, healthy lives.
